Hygiene and Covid-19

Hygiene and Covid-19

The importance of hygiene in wound care

Bacteria are often transferred from one host to another, usually through contact with humans, resources or environmental factors. We understand that applying general preventive measures reduces the risk of transmitting the micro-organism. That is why it is essential for us that hygienic aspects are applied at the right time and in the correct way, before, during and after the provision of wound care.

These hygienic appointments are part of the work routine for the wound care providers of ARA Wond & Zorg.

  • Applying the correct hygienic interventions in all activities
  • The use of clean / sterile instruments
  • Wearing personal protective equipment
  • The use of instruments or materials that can be properly cleaned, disinfected or sterilized
  • Promoting hygiene in the work area and disposal of medical waste
